My Project

In my classroom, I encounter different levels of student knowledge and talents. I want to be able to raise their knowledge levels and boost their talents. The Rubiks Cubes and timer are to challenge my students perception as well as add a fun task. Rubiks cubes keep their minds working. The bananagrams are to help build my students spelling and word association skills, especially for the ESOL students who are still learning English. The dictionary is also a great tool for all my students when we do vocabulary searches as well as defining words to be placed on the index cards for a word wall.

I allow for students to show their understanding of the course work through multiple outlets.

An outlet I use is art. In one of my classes, we learn more about our solar system. As a project, I give the students an opportunity to create a class solar system mobile. Each group receives a planet, write the information about the planet, and then paint the planet on foam balls. The drop cloth protects the lab station tables and the wooden dowels are for the end display of the planets. The easel would be used when the students' present their planet to the class. There would a mini dry erase board with important facts about their planet. The pocky are for snacks for the students.
