Ms. Wilson from Marrero LA is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the peg number boards and hands-on counting trays to increase their counting and one to one correspondence.

I want my students to have the best of everything. Many of my babies come from single-parent homes and they face various challenges in their everyday lives. I want to create an environment where not only will they learn and become highly educated productive citizens but they will also feel safe to open up to new experiences in and out of the classroom.
I teach at a school in an extremely low-income area on the Westbank of New Orleans where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch and some students are apart of the Backpack Program where they receive healthy food and snacks to take home for the weekends.
They love coming to school each day so that they can learn new and exciting things, socialize with their friends and get a giant hug from their teacher.
The items that I am requesting will help with all aspects of learning in my room for years to come.
Math manipulatives are an important part of a kindergarten classroom. My kids come in with the ability to say their numbers but they lack the skills needed to count objects and identify numbers. The majority of my students learn best hands-on. I have a few manipulatives in my classroom but it is not nearly enough for me to work with a small group and another group practice their one to one correspondence. The pegboards and counting trays will be used in centers so that my kids can practice what has been taught.
Your donation will ensure that my kids will be successful with their mathematical abilities.
They will not only be able to say their numbers but they will be able to count objects and identify the correct number for that group of objects.
