I have a mixed group of active and awesome 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! They cycle through three classrooms to gain integrated and grade-level curriculum from three teachers. Any projects that get funded are available to the entire team of students and two other teachers to utilize and benefit from!
My students are highly active; doing multiple sports, music, chorus, band, outdoor activities year round.
They are from a variety of types of homes, the spectrum of upper to lower middle class economically. Our school sits in a rural location, but we are just a short distance from our state's capital city.
My Project
My math students are engaged in their learning and love it when I can bring in some fun and games to our math class. They think so hard about the math and work hard to "see" the Math. The manipulatives and resources will help them get that hands on learning to solidify their thinking.
Math is fun and helping students to realize that and get them thinking about math in different ways (in middle school, when they are SO hard on themselves), is a challenge I love to take on.
The resources and manipulatives would help me to build confidence in some beautiful middle schoolers who are so hard on themselves!
