Help me give my students soft mallets for their glockenspiels and more advanced sound.

I am working to give my students an unforgettable general music experience through newer resources. It is clear that my students enjoy music and are adjusting well to a new music teacher. The students I teach are so diverse; they are patient, kind, open to these new experiences and ways of learning music.
I love seeing my student's faces when they are learning something new in music class.
It propels me to make lesson plans for weeks and weeks to come. These students greet me every day with genuine smiles and big hugs. Every child in the school knows their music teacher, Miss Cunningham. They make me feel special, and I would like them to know they are special, have unique abilities, and have a purpose.
Being in a Title I school, I am limited on resources. Many instruments are needed to update my music program and keep students creating. Through DonorsChoose.org this has been changing dramatically and all help is appreciated. If funded, the students will have immersive music opportunities and a lifelong love of music.
My students are eager to play an instrument called "the glockenspiel." It is similar to a xylophone, but with small metal bars. We recently used the glockenspiel and some students were horrified by the sound. We need a softer mallet in order to have a better sound. My students loved the act of playing the glockenspiel, but with hard plastic mallets, it was too harsh for their ears.
If we get soft rubber mallets it will open up possibilities of reading sheet music more fluently.
I am hopeful that with your help my students will enjoy the glockenspiel. I did my best to encourage soft play, but I cannot blame their curiosity. It seems no matter how soft we played it was still harsh to their ears. Playing pitched instruments is very important to me and my students. Please help them to get the skill of playing this instrument.
In a lesson using glockenspiels, we can break down rhythms, pitches, and tempo. They need more experience with pitched instruments as an ensemble. Not only will this develop their music skills, but it provides a sense of teamwork. I know students will be overjoyed to play glockenspiels and hear a more pleasing sound with soft mallets. My ears will also thank you too.
