My Students

My students are very creative and take any opportunity to learn something new with regards to music, golf, and technology. I often have students asking about specific skills for music, golf, and technology and a tremendous willingness to learn more.

The right tools in the hands of students can allow for the creation of some fantastic things.

Our district is in Northern Maine and many of our students come from low-income homes where these tools cannot be easily provided. My goal is to provide students with every opportunity when it comes to music, sports, and technology.

My Project

The malletStation will allow the percussion the become well-rounded percussionists. Currently our percussion consists of only non-pitched instruments. Purchasing individual instruments for chimes, marimba, vibraphone, and other pitched percussion can cost thousands of dollars.

One malletStation will allow us to have all those instruments and more in one.

Playing only non-pitched percussion is only teaching half a percussionist. Proper percussion technique requires learning all the instruments that a percussionist needs to know. It will also allow the band to perform some wonderful music we can not perform without those instruments. The malletStation would fill a massive gap in our program.
