Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school has some of the most inspiring, interesting, and intelligent students I have ever had the opportunity to be around! They are very involved and active. They work hard in the classroom and love to be at school!

This year, I will be teaching math, ELA and Social Studies to third, fourth and fifth graders!

I am so excited! I am excited to take on a departmentalized classroom. I get to reach so many more kids! The most amazing feeling is seeing a child's eyes light up when I have reached them. My students are amazing and I am grateful to reach and support more students and families this school year.

My Project

My students complain, complain and complain some more about writing. They do not like to do it. They say their hands hurt. They say it's boring. They will cry, whine and give every excuse in the book not to write.

My students need some fresh, new writing centers to engage them and get them motivated and interested in writing independently.

I model, model, model writing. When it is time for my students to write on their own, it is hard to get them motivated. These writing centers will help guide my students through the writing process and help to build their confidence in writing.
