Making Words with Bananagrams

My students need 8 sets of Bananagrams tile kits to work with in small groups. This hands on learning activity will help my students build their word work skills.

My Students

Working with words is a focus in our Language Arts classroom. My students take ownership in learning how words work and enjoy a hands on approach to building and creating words. We believe it is not about memorizing the spelling of a word, but learning how words work. This is a valuable life skill.

I teach 42 fifth grade students who come from diverse backgrounds and a range of academic abilities.

We are joined in a passion for knowledge and a love of reading. Our school is the definition of diverse with over thirty different languages represented. Our diversity is celebrated school wide!

My Project

We will use the Bananagrams tile kits weekly in class. This small group activity will support and encourage creativity and thinking while working with and learning about words. Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow from each other in a challenging and structured environment.

Donations to this project will allow my students to grow and learn about words using an interactive hands on approach.

Having enough materials for all my students will allow for 100% participation.
