Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help us learn our words! These materials will make learning to read and write extremely accessible to my students.
My students are AMAZING!
Not only was I lucky enough to have them in kindergarten, but I am moving with them to first grade! These children face poverty each day, but they prevail. Ninety percent of them are English Language Learners, but they are reading at grade level.
My Project
My current word wall can be seen by all students, but they can't reach all of the words. One of their favorite activities is pointing to and reading words on the wall. This magnetic word wall would allow all students to touch and use words from the word wall when writing.
The Tub of Letters and Stamp pads will be used during independent workshop time. Since I am moving grade levels, not all of my materials from kindergarten will be useful. The magnetic words, stamps, and letter activities will be great first grade activities for independent workshop.
Word work is an extremely important part of becoming a lifelong reader and writer.
My students really love workshop time, and your donation will help bring them new and exciting items to use!
