Making Waves in Physics

Help me give my students the tools to learn and explore waves. They will learn about physical waves, model electromagnetic waves, and use springs and lasers to explain how cell phones function.

My Project

Learning about waves in physics can be a mind-bending experience if you only learn via textbook. Physical waves may make sense but the waves of sound, light, and electromagnetism are difficult to grasp but they are so important!

I want my students to excel in their understanding of waves, which is the basis for how their favorite object, their cell phone, functions.

Understanding waves is the basis of the technology that we are all dependent on and this kit will make my students experts in all forms of waves.

Unfortunately, this amazing topic often isn't taught in depth in Physics classrooms because of a lack of materials and the frustration of both teachers and students with making this concept come to life. However, with your help, we can change this trend and maybe help mold the engineers of your future communication device.
