My students need a tablet in order to have access to virtual laboratory content. This will make them successful in a 21st century learning environment.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My group of students are a very eclectic bunch. They come from all over the city of Richmond. Many come to this school to receive a better education and others come because they love art.
My students are eager and excited every day to learn.
I can barely say hi before they are all asking, "what are we doing today?". They love incorporating art and technology all while learning science concepts. I want to expose them to as much technology as possible.
My Project
As a school we decided against the use of cellphones even for educational purposes. However, in an ever evolving technological world it has been extremely difficult. In science there are many different ways that technology can be used. Students will access the tablet to use virtual reality cubes to study the planets. We will also use the tablet for many art projects. My students have shown an interest in stop motion animation as well as digital drawing/illustrating. The possibilities are endless with having a tablet in the classroom. We are all really looking forward to all of the future projects the tablet will allow us to do.
