Our school is a Title I school. Title I means, that 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Our school is located in a low income area. Our students work very hard every day. Our school has a 97% attendance rate, which means they rarely miss school. My students are very inquisitive and vocal. Many of my students are very active.
Our school is one of the most diverse schools in Memphis, TN.
Our students speak multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindu, Amharic and Swahili. My students have a strong sense of community.
We love our Cricut machine in our classroom for numerous reasons. But we are out of vinyl. We would love to create fun and bright fonts to display on our bulletin boards (which changes monthly) outside our classroom.
In our classroom, we can create headings for our white board and create posters boards and headings for the things that we are learning in class each week.
We can create decorations for the room for holidays or birthdays. We can make fonts to display on our field trip shirts, or any gifts we work on in class. We can label the small group stations with vinyl. We can create a heading for the classroom library!
My art club is excited to make our school a better place. Our focus this year is to make the campus more positive and encouraging with the art that will be produced and displayed around campus. Some of our projects will include redecorating the staff lounge, put up multiple small libraries around campus, make and gift staff appreciation gifts, and put up murals around campus. The spray paint will be needed to re-purpose recycled material for a variety of projects as well as the small libraries.
The weather has turned cold we will use the Vaseline and wipes to keep warm.
