This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is in a small, rural community. Most of my 5th grade students come from low-income homes. Over 75% of the school population receives free and reduced lunch. Despite the poverty level of most of my students, they are always eager to try new ideas.
My Project
In my science class, I want students to be immersed in science and the experiments we do. With these materials of markers and scissors, my students will be able to conduct their experiments as well as participate in their interactive notebook activities. The composition notebooks I am requesting will be used by my students in my classroom for their interactive science notebooks.
Help my fifth graders become scientists and have their imaginations and creativity run wild!
Writing by hand encourages students to be more meticulous about their responses, allows for significantly higher retention of content, and takes them outside of their digital comfort zone.
