I would like all of my students to be successful communicators by the end of the school year.
I work with 55 amazing speech and language impaired students in an art focus elementary school in an urban city.
Their disabilities range from autism spectrum disorder, sensory integration difficulties, behavior disordered, disordered speech skills and language disordered students. Although my great students have disabilities they all work extremely hard to overcome their disabilities.
My Project
These materials will help my students learn by being able to focus (the hokki chairs), protect the ipads that we use during speech group (ipad cases), correctly produce "r" with an innovative new tool, quickly write answers on creative new boogie boards, and improve social language skills with exciting figurative language books.
These wonderful new materials will help make the perfect speech room.
They are tools that will help my students learn in an environment that addresses their sensory needs and their need to hands on meaningful materials.
