Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach first grade bilingual students. My students receive instruction in both Spanish and English. My students are economically disadvantaged. My students come from immigrants families that are trying to recover from the violence in their home countries. I have students that didn't have the opportunity to attend school in their countries.

My students will benefit from a small group instruction.

They need to receive skills for their success in this school system. My students need the proper environment to receive the instruction they need.

My Project

My students are reading at different levels. Small group instruction is the best way to meet their needs. With small group instruction, I can group them properly. With more comfortable seating, my students can stay focused and they will improve their reading levels. I have students that need to stay in the small group a little longer and with the seating that we have right now they are not going to be able to work and keep the good momentum going.

I also work in small group in math.

My students benefit from the small group setting to improve their math skills.
