Help me give my students a document camera to see and understand as I explain how to graph data, solve Punnett squares, and work complimentary base pairing in DNA and RNA.
Our students at our school have been in a 1 to 1 setting for about 2 years now from middle school through High school. Because that has been our circumstances, I have never really needed a document camera. I have always been able to explain in class and refer back to those explanations in an email if the student was in class.
That process has all changed as we are in a whole new world in education I am finding it really difficult to explain concepts like DNA/RNA/transcription/Translation, Punnett squares or metric conversions with no way to write the problem or concept out so the kids can see what I am doing.
A document camera would change that, and make it possible for me to record such explanations for students who are absent or for me to do such explanations in realtime.
My Project
My students are having difficulty comprehending from videos and written instructions on how to solve problems like Punnett squares, Graphing Data, making metric conversions, and carrying out models of transcription and translation.
Through the purchase of a document camera, I will be able to do live demonstrations and explanations or recorded ones that can be emailed to individual struggling students.
In addition, my Zoology students would benefit if I recorded my own dissections which are more focused on the ideas and concepts I want them to focus on instead of generic ones I dig out of the internet.
