My students need a mobile media cart so that we can organize our technology and a few flex-space wobble cushions to keep them engaged in learning.

My little Busy Bees are a bunch of five-year-old sponges that absorb anything that is thrown their way. For some, the only schooling these young minds receive is in the seven and a half hours that I have with them each day. I want to be able to set the foundation for future learning in my students, but my classroom is very limited in the resources that are available. Many of my students were highly affected by Hurricane Harvey, yet they still manage to come to school excited and eager to learn everyday. Due to Hurricane Harvey, some of my students are displaced and are living in foster care, are living in shelters or are being raised by their grandparents, or are living with older siblings and other relatives. Others are in households where the parents are young parents themselves and are high school drop-outs.
We are in need of a mobile media cart so that we can have a centralized place to organize all of the wonderful new technology that was graciously funded for our hive. I will also be able to keep supplies like pointers, pencils, markers, and books right within reach! In order to not interrupt instruction, I will be able to connect instantly between the laptop, document camera, and projector with ease and not have to constantly stop to move equipment around and waste valuable instructional time. We will have access to everything needed to have a successful whole group discussion while focusing their attention more on the lesson and less on me hooking things up or moving equipment around. This mobile media cart will be just what we need!
It is important to keep my little Busy Bees actively engaged in their learning throughout the day.
The best way to keep them motivated and active in their learning is by having many activities for them to do. With the wobble cushions, my students who like to wiggle and wobble while they sit, will have a stable and comfortable spot that will allow them the ability to do a little movement. My students will be comfortable and more focused in their Read to Self / Read With a Partner workstation. Please help me brighten the eyes of my little Busy Bees by bringing our project to life!!
