Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Focused and determined are two words that best describe the students in my classroom. Being a first year teacher I have been beyond inspired to work with such a great group of propitious 5th graders. They are collaborators, leaders, and teachers. We work together to achieve each and every classroom goal that comes our way.

These students are determined to rise above their struggles and hardships because they value education and what it can lead to.

They live in a Hispanic community where many of them will be the first in their families to go to college. Each student has a story, and comes from a different set of circumstances, but they all know that with a good education their future is promising.

My Project

My students need more opportunities for hands on technology experience in the classroom. With these materials my students will be able to practice their typing, research, reading, and mathematical skills. Having a laptop inside the classroom that the students can access at anytime will benefit each child's learning needs.

Technology is beneficial to all students because it can enhance their learning in many different ways.

Not all students have access to technology at home, by having these items in the classroom students will be able to complete research projects or take home projects without worrying about where to get their information. Students will have less stress in knowing that they have access to these materials in the classroom.

A laptop will allow students to type research papers, practice for computer based tests, and take advantage of online databases for all subject areas. My students will be doing science projects where they will need to document their work. Having a camera for classroom use will allow students to take pictures of their work and add them to their papers. I feel that I will be able to take advantage of all learning styles if I have these materials such as headphones readily available for student use at any time. Headphones will allow those who struggle with reading access to sites and stories that can be read to them.
