Help me give my students the opportunity to increase rigorous and academic goals achievement through research and interactive Mathematics learning activities, thanks to the implementation of Chromebooks as technology tools in their learning progress.
My school is one of many schools serving 87% high poverty students in the second largest district in Illinois. Diversity, intellectual ability, and genuine enthusiasm to learn and discover more beyond the classroom are the common elements of my students.
My students are in a two way dual language program, in which learning interaction develops among native Spanish speakers and native English speakers.
In this program, students are encouraged to maximize their linguistic capabilities to promote their bi-literacy development - ability to read and write in two languages.
One way to engage my students in productive learning is through hands on activities, which promotes communication and collaboration, as well as enhance their mathematical abilities through interactive practice and intervention.
In addition, through technology, which makes more fun interesting with virtual Math, Science or Social Studies lessons. Learning the basics of technology use in their learning, enhances their learning, engages their curiosity and satisfies deeper levels of cognitive development such as research required in 5th grade.
My students will be using this advanced technology resource to shape how they learn. They will do so by embracing and integrating technology in the classroom, and by setting up for a successful life outside of school.
This project will help them boost their academic achievements, as I believed that in this digital age, it will help them locate, use and retain adequate information better.
I also envision using these resources for small group instruction in the mainstream setting, and sometimes pulling out situations when I have to support scholars who are struggling in certain areas.
Lastly, by using these Chromebooks, my students will be able to practice a wide range of interactive learning, spanning from mathematics to science programs to effectively research and manage digital information.
