I am a teacher at a truly diverse school.
We are a Title I school. The population of the school consists of seventy-five percent students of color, seventy percent of students receiving free or reduced price lunch, and forty percent English language learners. Many of the students speak English as their second or third language.
My Project
We need sports equipment to enhance my movement program at school. We currently have a very limited amount of equipment for our students to use. More balls means more children get to play at a time.
These sport balls that we are asking for will encourage students to move, run and play.
Many of our students live in apartments or small homes where the ability to move and run are limited. Exercise is very important to their mental and physical development. The more they move the healthier they are. Sports such as soccer also teach children about teamwork and cooperation.
