Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in an urban school district, I have been blessed to see how diverse my students are. Many of my students are first generation students. School is a happy place for my students. Our school is a very low socioeconomic community. The families work as hard as they can to give their children a great life. At our school, we have various sports team, clubs and Student Council members that try to make a connection with the community the best they can.
Technology and Art is what helps my students thrive in the classroom.
When able to create Art with various forms of technology, my students will really be preparing themselves for the ever-changing world that is so technologically driven.
My Project
A big part of our AVID program is to be involved in our community. With social distancing, it has been hard to go out into our community and do this. So, with this in mind, we had to get creative on how to support local charities and raise awareness for various causes.
In October, we recently made T-Shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness.
We want to continue this tradition by making T-Shirts for Autism Awareness and American Heart Awareness, and Earth Day.
These supplies are not cheap, we would greatly continue your support if you chose to support us. Our heat press is falling apart and could really use a new one.
