Help me give my students a safe and sturdy market stand to ignite their imagination in the dramatic play center.

My Preschool classroom is full of energy and creativity. It is my duty to prepare students. We teach social skills and routines early in the school year to get them ready for academic learning. Preschool is a crucial time for learning so I am always trying to find new ways to teach my students.
My students come from a very poor and urban school district.
No matter what their home life is like they come to school to explore and learn new things. As their teacher I have tried to create a learning environment that best fits their needs. That being said I am always changing things to better our environment. My students learn the most when activities and lessons are taught with a hands-on approach. They also learn a lot through our center time where they are able to choose different areas in the room to work in. Because they do not have a lot of resources at home I try to use a wide variety of manipulatives, toys and activities in the classroom to broaden their horizons.
Who doesn't love to play?! My students learn many of their beginning skills through educational play experiences. In my classroom the students have access to a variety of centers including blocks, art, library, science and many more. One of their favorite centers to work in is dramatic play. There are so many social and educational skills that the children are able to work on in the dramatic play area.
Grocery Store, Pizza Shop, Vet's Office!
In the past I have had a cardboard market stand from Ikea that I used to decorate my dramatic play area with a variety of themes. My students are able to explore new topics through the toys and items that I provide for them. My students live in high poverty and unfortunately are not afforded certain experiences. I strive to provide fun, educational experiences for my students that they may otherwise never be able to have. Throughout the school year I decorate our dramatic play center with different themes. In previous years I have used themes like Gift Shop, Bakery, Holiday Workshop, Pizza Shop, Grocery Store, Picnic etc... Unfortunately, preschoolers can be a little rough on toys and furniture and so I have gone through multiple cardboard market stands. I am excited to get a market stand that is sturdier and safer for my students to use, and that will last much longer! Receiving this new market stand will also open up new opportunities and experiences for my students.
