My students are a diverse group of learners representative of different backgrounds. They are an amazing group of students who have been challenged by generational poverty. Even with that challenge they are striving daily to overcome obstacles in their path.
My primary goal for my students is the understanding that the challenges they face on a day to day basis do not define them and do not have to hold them back.
They are highly engaged when they are provided with what they want to read and the books are relative to them. They love to explore real-world issues in relation to literacy and hands-on experiences.
My Project
This school is considered a STEAM school. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. We trying to blend all these components together at least once in each unit to help students expand their knowledge.
Students learn best when they tap into their creativity and are turned loose to explore new ideas in their own way.
These art supplies will allow us to build 3D models of a zoo. After learning all about plants and animals will take a trip to the zoo. Afterwards we will bring our own zoo to life with these supplies.
Students will get a chance to demonstrate their knowledge is a fun, creative, and engaging new way!
