Help me give my students hands-on experiences with owl pellets to help them understand food webs and how humans interact with the environment, plus rocks to address the rock cycle and planters to be used for scientific inquiry.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach an amazing group of students in a Title One, urban school where ninety-six percent of the student body qualifies for free meals. My students face many challenges yet they come to school eager to learn. They know that our classroom is a safe place and that they are part of a community of scholars. At the end of the year, I want them to be able to work cooperatively, communicate their ideas clearly and know how to solve problems.
I encourage students to value their strengths and to persist when they are challenged.
My Project
Most of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners. That means that I constantly have to find ways for them to work with their hands so they can see what they are learning. Among the whole group, I only have one student who can listen and learn. Even he is constantly in motion.
Hands-on activities make abstract concepts real to students who have limited access to enrichment activities outside of school.
I do a lot with common household objects to keep expenses down. But there are some things that I cannot replicate (owl pellets) and other things (like identifying and collecting igneous and sedimentary rocks) that I need a little help with.
Also, I want my students to be excited about STEM so that they will consider careers in STEM. The more they learn now, the more options they will have in the future.
