Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach Georgia Pre-K in an elementary school setting. There are 22 beautiful and unique souls in my classroom. I have the pleasure to teach and work with such a wonderful diverse group of students in my classroom. We love to embrace and explore everyone’s culture and create a family atmosphere in my room.

These students entered my classroom unaware of all the possibilities waiting for them.

I love their innocence, and how they are new to the world of education. This is a big step for them, a huge experience as they start their first journey into the education field. For that, I want to ensure that I provide them with a fun, safe, comfortable, and inviting learning environment.

As a Pre-K Teacher, I am shaping and molding them why they are still in the “sponge” phase meaning they absorb all kinds of knowledge at this age. I just want to make them happy and be that person that is there for them.

My Project

Students spend majority of their time on the rug for Morning Meetings, Large Group Literacy, Math, Story time, etc., by donating to our project, you will help to improve student’s comfort level during engagement.

Students will be able to focus their attention more on the location of where I need them to sit during our time on the carpet which will increase their knowledge of colors, shapes, and color sight words around them.

The rug donated will help to excel each child in some form of capacity whether learning by shapes, colors, numbers, letters, and/or sounds. Everything will be utilized by the students while in the classroom.
