My students need non-fiction leveled readers to encourage reading about the world around us. One way to help students to become powerful readers and learn about the world is to give them nonfiction books giving students the opportunity to explore all types of books.
Students are eager to get their hands on non-fiction books.
This is a chance to support and foster the love for reading in the classroom. By building our non-fiction library, we will kindle their passion for non-fiction reading with exciting new books. What kids wouldn't love reading about engineering or dolphins?
My Project
Funding this project will show the importance of non-fiction books. At this time, our school does not have a library. My classroom library lacks non-fiction books making it difficult to teach, practice, and encourage non-fiction reading.
Building our classroom library with non-fiction books will give students choice and open a whole new beautiful world of reading.
Our libraries in our classrooms are extremely important. Classroom libraries are the books students will be utilizing day in and day out. Expanding our classroom library ensures students will have the opportunity to choose non-fiction books, ultimately supporting the rigorous Common Core Standards. As well as, giving students the chance to explore the world through reading sparking interests and a love for the World around them.
