My students need chapter books for book studies. I have chosen three great books for us to begin or study with Charlotte's Web, Found, and The Homework Machine.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go." — Dr. Seuss I want my students to develop a love for reading. The best way to this is by doing book studies. I want to show my students how great a book can be! I want them to be excited to read!
I teach third grade in a Title I school.
All the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are very energetic and curious about everything. Our school is currently trying to change our climate to a more positive one. We want our students to be engaged in their learning. What a better way to do this than through book studies!
I have chosen three books to get us started with our book study. I want to use these books to teach a variety of reading concepts and provide my students with different types of projects to do with each study. The books I have chosen to start with are Charlotte's Web, The Homework Machine, and Found. I believe that these books will help to get my student's excited about reading. I have already planned many fun and exciting activities to go along with each book. Not only will students begin to develop a love for reading but they will also learn concepts that could be boring or even difficult for them to understand and have fun at the same time. Third grade is crucial year for my student's not only is it the first time they are faced with standardized testing but it is also the grade where reading is so important! I want my students to feel confident that they have learned all they need to know and also feel confident in their ability to read and understand different genres of text.
Donating to this project will help my students in so many ways.
The most important impact this donation will have is on my students thoughts about reading. These book studies will help to show my students that reading can be fun, just as fun as playing video games or watching television. I want my students love for reading to improve and this donation will help do just that. This donation will give us the start we need to make book studies successful.
