My second grade students greet me each and every morning with a running hug. That excitement quickly carries into the classroom where they are ready to soak up their daily dose of knowledge! From the moment they walk in the door, their desire to learn fuels our learning each and every day.
For many of my students, school is a safe haven, a place where they can come and feel successful.
It is their only chance to pick up a book and read. It is a place where they can work in partnerships, interact with their peers and share their expertise. It is a place where each student has their individual strengths and can take the lead in teaching others.
Our class is a family.
My Project
These books will support the wide range of readers I have in my classroom. Whether students are just learning how to read, or diving into chapter books, these books will ensure that each child is given a book that will foster their love for learning!
When I walk into reader's workshop, I want to see a whole class of students who are lost in their books.
