My Students

Although often referred to as “low-income”, my students are eager learners who enjoy experiencing the world around them! Each year, they show up ready to learn and work hard throughout the year despite many obstacles. I feel a more welcoming classroom environment they can relax in will definitely help to motivate them and their learning process. My students see the value in learning and eagerly rise to the challenge on a daily basis - no small feat in their world.

My Project

Many of my students shy away from reading because of their struggles. No one likes to do anything that they aren't good at. I feel audiobooks will help spark my struggling readers' interest in reading again because they'll be able to enjoy great titles in the audio form. They'll still get to enjoy the great titles that other students love to read without the struggle of having to do so on their own. And what better way to enjoy a great story.... By making yourself comfortable and digging right in!
