Making Poetry Personal

Help me give my students dynamic and diverse poetry collections for a deep-dive study.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Miller's classroom raised $283

My Project

In my AP Literature class, my students have requested to do a poet study in which they read an entire collection by a poet of their choice in small book club groups. These books will be the beginning of a curated collection of poetry collections that will live in our classroom library.

Though my students know that poetry itself is a living thing, they also want to learn from living poets.

We spent our first semester time with poetry studying iconic poetry movements of the past -- now, we want to explore and celebrate the ways in which poets are speaking to our current zeitgeist. My students selected these titles as texts that reflect their identities and will help them explore the intersections of art, history, and justice, and we would love to see these on our shelves!
