Third grade is such a big year! The students are now entering upper elementary and are considered the big kids! Third graders are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Third Graders strive to become more independent and mature learners.
We ask a lot of these kids during the school year. It's a tough transition to go from second to third.
Many students need time and space in order to be successful this school year. Things that make them successful are music, movement, and working collaboratively.
My Project
We are in need of a more diverse library.
Diverse books are important because they teach people about others.
They help promote respect and empathy for all types of people. Our district teaches Emotional Intelligence and we need to have books to support this learning.
Additionally, our school population is changing and students need books that they can connect to the main character in.
Kind, compassionate humans that know how important it is to love everyone.
With all that is going on in the world it is important to discuss these difficult subject matters, and children learn best from books!
Students can use these books as a tool to help them understand, learn, and hopefully want to make a difference every day!
