My students need a writing center filled with supplies and tools (folders, pencils, paper trays, and table caddies) they can use to engage and encourage them to write narratives, opinion pieces, and informational texts effortlessly.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inquisitive and loving third graders who enjoy coming to school to learn everyday. They are passionate about their academics and despite many obstacles, they strive to persevere and be the best they can be.
Our school is a Title 1 public New York City school located in the Bronx with 98% of students coming from low-income households and receiving free lunch.
My students come from various cultural backgrounds and speak many languages. They face many economic hardships which make it difficult for their parents to provide basic necessities. The projects I create on their behalf, will supplement their learning experiences throughout the year.
My Project
My students learn so much throughout the day. The main focus of their learning is reading and writing. We are kindly asking for help in getting the materials to stock our writing center for the year.
My students need Writing Process folders, pencils, paper trays, and table caddies.
The folders will help them organize their writing into four steps. Having all these materials will ensure a successful year for all my students.
My students will use these materials to keep their writing organized throughout the stages of the writing process (pre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing). These materials will offer them variety and organization that will make it easy for them to access the materials they need for their units of writing.
