My students and I become a family from Day One.
No matter what difficulties we face, we face them together. In a short period of time, I grow to care for each one in their own individual way. I just met my students for this year and words can't describe the excitement and optimism I am feeling about the year ahead! Despite the academic and emotional struggles that are inevitable with my school's population, I know every child will find a way to succeed in some way. My children are so much more than a test score at the end of the year; they are a little person who will grow up to play a role in our future in this world and I strive for them to know how much they are appreciated!
My Project
My students need an Epson PictureMate Charm portable color photo printer, to help us make the amazing memories we build this year last forever. Each and every day is full of learning in our classroom. We learn as we conduct our morning meeting, by building social skills and growing as citizens and friends. We learn as we complete daily math activities, by understanding how to problem solve and manipulate numbers. We learn as we read and write daily, by discovering the world of others in novel studies and sharing about ourselves in our Writers' Notebooks. We learn as we discuss our state's history, engaging in the events and lives of the past that helped shape our world today. We learn and grow through out each and every day. This photo printer will allow us to capture these learning opportunities and share them with families and our school via pictures to keep in memory books and bulletin board displays.
Many family members never have the chance to visit their child during the school year and experience learning with them.
A photograph can bring that moment home for sharing! My students and their families will be united with our classroom as the children remember our experiences and communicate with their loved ones about these memories.
