My Students
We live in rural Maine with limited resources and a high level of poverty. The students in our school need to be supported to succeed academically and find how they best learn. I teach junior high level mathematics in a small school. My students enjoy the flexibility of learning in small group environments and with teachers who look after not only their academic needs but their needs as a whole. The more we encourage our students to succeed academically, the more they will thrive throughout their lives.
My Project
My students work well with whiteboards in my math classroom.
Students often are stocked with whiteboard markers at the start of the year but throughout the year they need to be replaced.
These whiteboard markers would ensure that math isn't interrupted by not having the necessary tools. Students will be able to replace their marker as needed in the classroom if they do not have their own supplies. This will help math go more smoothly and have there be less interruptions. Whiteboards are key to practice in my classroom for many students and we want to keep it available for all.
