I teach 4th grade in Oregon. We provide a quality education for a racially and socioeconomically diverse group of students.
Our school is a Title I school, which means we have a large percentage of students who come from low-income families.
We have been fortunate enough to receive funding from grants to become a one-to-one technology school, which means every student at the school has access to their own iPad while at school. Our students have the amazing opportunity to increase their learning with hands-on access to technology that many of them do not have access to at home.
My Project
With these keyboards and headphones my 4th graders will be able to utilize their iPads as the important educational tool they can be. Each student in my room has their own iPad that is used daily.
In 4th grade my students are expected to use their iPads to create, develop, enhance, and share their work in the classroom and beyond.
Having keyboards and headphones will streamline this process for them. Research has shown us that typing on actual keyboards (rather than on a screen) improves test scores when reading and writing is involved. The headphones not only allow students to focus on their work, but the built-in microphone encourages them to use their voice to add to their work.
Thank you for supporting my students and providing them with tools that will help them become even stronger students!
