My Students

Our school is in a rural district, trying to equip our students with the skills and experiences to be successful in our ever-changing world. I have the privilege to teach a multi-age kindergarten and first-grade class. I love teaching literacy, problem-solving, and thinking skills!

My kindergarteners and first graders are naturally curious and I want to help support them as they collaborate and learn creatively!

As their teacher, it is my goal to create opportunities to make them curious about the world around them. My goal is to empower them to ask questions and find answers. My students deserve it!

My Project

I am requesting a TA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit with Number Strings, Math Talks to help my learners deepen their understanding of foundational number sense skills. The materials would help us use and understanding math strategies; such as, friendly numbers, doubles, near doubles, and counting on and counting back. My students love using math talk to help defend and support their math thinking. These materials would help them revoice their thinking and use materials to show to others the ways that they were able to get the answer. I will also be able to use the materials to help students who may not have the skill or strategy...yet.
