This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach an exuberant group of four years old who have boundless energy and a love for learning. Our school is located in an inner city district with limited budgets. My pre-kindergarten is an inclusive classroom where all children come to learn.
Children learn best through play; therefore, it is my goal to provide a classroom filled with fun, hands-on learning experiences.
My students are encouraged to experiment and apply their learning to real-life situations. Every day is an adventure!
My Project
In our classroom, we love to listen to music! We have lots of great songs to practice our skills, and my students love to dance and sing. The problem is that I am a bit old-fashioned; I have so many wonderful classics all on records! A storage unit for my record player, records, and musical instruments for the students to play along would be so helpful!
By having all of our musical records and instruments easily accessible, we will be able to dance the day away!
Children learn so much through music, and I want to make sure they have lots of opportunities to explore their learning in this way! We will be counting, singing about the alphabet, and dancing to calendar songs. The fun will never stop, and my students will always be engaged!!
