Help me give my students more access to technology in the music room! Since our district does not receive much funding for instruments such as xylophones, receiving iPads would allow my students access to various music apps!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at an elementary School in New Bedford, Massachusetts. My students come into school every day with a smile on their face, ready to learn despite facing many challenges at home. Many of my students come from low income homes and do not have the resources they need to gain everything they can from their education.
Music is so important to reach these students and to help them to become more confident learners.
75% of my students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. My school is the magnet ESL (English as a Second Language) school in our district. Students at my school primarily speak Spanish, Portuguese, and Creole. Music is so important to reach these students and to help them be more confident learners.
My Project
Hello, I am a music teacher in an elementary school. Because of limited funding it can be difficult to have access to many instruments. Currently my classroom only has access to 4 xylophones and each classroom has roughly 25 to 30 students. This makes it very difficult to perform whole class instruction on melodic instruments without students having to wait for a turn or not getting a turn at all with an instrument.
Using iPads in the music room would allow all of my students in grades K-5 to have access to a virtual instrument as well as many music apps which will improve their musical abilities.
These iPads will help students to learn about many musical ideas such as scales, solfege, World Music, and Instrument Families as well as many more. These iPads would also be great for when we do music centers in the classroom.
Technology in the music classroom would also greatly help my students that are visual learners as well because music apps such as Prodigies Bells use color coded bells that will help my students who are ASD and also students with learning disabilities. Also many of my students are ESL students and I believe more access to technology in my classroom will also help these students develop more musical terminology in the English language.
