Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm a first year elementary general music teacher, and I moved half way across the United States to help promote music in schools. My students are new to me, but they're so sweet and eager to learn! We are a Title 1 school district, so our funds are low for extra instruments, equipment, etc.
I'd love to introduce students to all types of instruments and sounds, but to do so I need more instruments!
My class room currently has 3 tone bar instruments, and large set of recorders, as well as other miscellaneous instruments that will be fun to explore! But I need your help to purchase more tone bar instruments as well as djembes, hand drums, and other musical instruments! Please consider donating if you can, and if you can't please share this page! Thank you!
My Project
Instruments are such an essential part of an elementary music classroom. And all students need to be able to explore, practice, and play them. Sharing is an essential skill that is learned throughout early childhood development, and sharing instruments is a skill as well! I just want to make it so every child has an instrument to share with another!
With more instruments, we can encourage and promote music learning within the classroom, as well as throughout the school and community.
More students will be able to spend more time on instruments, as well as their performances will be awesome with more students on a djembe or xylophone.
