Making Movable Models Using 3D Pens

My Students

My students are in the 7th - 9th grade. Students at our school are bright, high-achieving students, some of whom unfortunately have families struggling to make ends meet. The population of our school is diverse. We also have students who struggle with the English language because it is not spoken in their homes. All of these students need the help of a caring community.

Every child learns best when the community works together to ensure their individual needs are met.

My Project

Students will design and create 3D parts for an electronically and digitally automated project. The pens will allow students to personalize their work.

Personalizing projects helps to heighten interest and strengthen engagement, which ultimately leads to better work and more learning.

STEM mixed with art and creativity is a way to reach students who might not otherwise have seen themselves as someone interested in technology or able to adequately express themselves through a digital medium. Showing students a multitude of uses for technology might spark an interest that would lead to further inquiry.
