Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is composed of 25 six year olds. Most of them are Hispanic and not only new to this country but also their first time in school. They are at different academic levels and they all have different interest. The one thing that I’m sure of is that they all love to come to school and are interested in learning. Their enthusiasm is beyond words.
They spend more time at School(our classroom)than in their homes.
The classroom is a place of learning and the only chance they get to play and socialize with friends. A lot of my students are there from 7:30 to 5:30.
My Project
As part of their learning in my kindergarten class my students do a lot of art s and crafts. They make personal projects such as drawings, hand prints and writings. They make ornaments at Christmas and flower pins for Mothers Day just to name a few.
Having a laminating machine will help me to preserve their projects.
I am able to glue magnets on the back and write their name and year that it was done. Their projects become memories and by laminating them they will last a life time.
There is nothing better than looking back or hanging up something your child made when they were in kindergarten.
