Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students are English language learners who attend a Title I school where they all receive free lunch at school. We are an inner city school with high poverty. My students come to school every day full of life, all ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
Despite their shortcomings, my students are enthusiastic learners!
They are always eager to learn and have some fun! My students always strive for their best so that they can be successful one day!
My Project
My students will create their memory book for their year in kindergarten using these 1" plastic view binders. The sheet protectors will keep their certificates and awards that they have received throughout the year nice and clean! In addition to these certificates and awards, my students will also put their monthly self-portraits that they have drawn and monthly writing sample in the memory binder! Furthermore, my students will also add any other special writing assignments to their binders, like Halloween writing and Thanksgiving too!. Last, but not least, I will add pictures of my students that I have taken of them throughout the year to their memory binder! All of these will help keep their memories sweet in Kindergarten over the years as they look back on what they did and learned in school!
