My students are thoughtful and hard-working - these are students who need extra supplies and support in order to be successful in math though. It's amazing how a little thing like a "fancy ruler" (their words) or a new set of colored markers makes students feel special.
We work as a team in my classroom - there are two teachers and a teaching assistant who along with my students form this amazing, hard-working group.
To help support my math students with their learning, we also need supplies and technology which help support their learning.
My Project
For this project, we need supplies to make math real and interesting for students. Basic supplies like markers, folders, and post-its make it possible to create an interactive, student-friendly classroom. Students in our math class learn best when math is hands-on and students have a chance to move around the room. It's important to have these materials to use for exit tickets and work in small groups, where students are leading the instruction and math learning.
These supplies are ones which will encourage students to work cooperatively and also engage in higher level math learning as well.
