This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My first-grade class is comprised of 21 eager learners. They are kind, caring, and love helping others. They are each unique and very special and I go out of my way each day to remind them of that.
My first graders come from a rough area and go through more than what most kids do, but they do not let that stop them from working hard toward their goals.
They love to learn and have learned to persevere through tough times.
My Project
Math concepts can be tricky, especially when students are only solving math problems with paper and pencil. We use math in almost everything we do, making it extremely relevant in our students lives. Unfortunately, many of our students do not enter elementary school with a strong math foundation, causing students to fall behind easily.
Having access to hands on, engaging, math materials helps students to have fun while learning math concepts.
Creating lessons where students are having so much fun that they don't even know that they are learning is what we strive to do. Having access to the materials requested will help greatly.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
