Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
First Grade is where a LOT of learning happens. All. Day. Long. I am passionate about teaching reading, math, science, social studies, and art!
I am even more passionate about creating students who are excited to learn, investigate and take responsibility for their learning.
The student population at our school includes 46% free and reduced lunch. We have students that speak English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic. We have learners in every shape, color, and language, and I want them to see themselves as thinkers, dreamers, and future leaders! I want them to know that they can do anything!
My Project
I am in need of math practice that is not paper and pencil, getting these games and STEAM tools will help my kids get the practice they need to make math more fluent.
I am looking to get several math games for the students so that they can practice math tools and fluency all while playing a game in classroom.
Students also need to be able to build and manipulate things which is why I have requested for magna-tiles and building pieces along with new scissors for paper creations (from fractions to building their own dice!) Please help me make math practice EXCITING!
