Our students are active kindergartners - fifth graders that come from a variety of different cultural and economic backgrounds. They enter our school on different levels but despite these differences, our students love to learn together with hands-on activities and innovative strategies! Our school is seen as a busy place with students learning.
As teachers, we strive to provide an environment where all students can achieve despite their differences.
Our students always surprise us with their love for learning despite the challenges they may face academically or at home.
My Project
Our school is hosting a family math night in April. The goal is to make math meaningful and fun for students. We will be incorporating games into learning stations to help students and parents find different ways to practice math concepts together. Families will be able to rotate through 8 grade-level appropriate stations to play games with math flash cards to practice addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and division.
Our students and their families will be allowed to have a fun and engaging night of practicing math skills all while making unforgettable memories.
At our final math station, students will spin the prize wheel and receive a deck of cards and dice funded through this project to take home. Help us make math magical, meaningful and fun for students!
