My students need hands-on interactive math and STEM games, such as IQ Builder and WISDOMTOY Wood Deluxe Four-Sided 10 Number Shut the Box, for our math block.
My second grade classroom is full of innovative thinkers, with a passion for learning. Each morning, they greet me with either a hand-shake, side-hug, or high-five and a big smile on their face. They are excited to see their "day-time family", as they call it. The students are always eager to read their agenda during Town Hall meetings to see what they will be learning for the day.
My students are critical thinkers and passionate about exploring new things.
They enjoy learning through the process of inquiry and eagerly seek engaging, hands-on activities. When they put their thinking caps on, it amazes me what they discover and create!
My Project
My students need a variety of math and STEM activities to explore during math centers. The materials within this project will tremendously improve my math centers by providing an exciting hands-on learning experience for each of my students.
It is vital to have interactive, meaningful and engaging activities for students during centers.
Zoom Builder and IQ Builder are exciting mathematical games that will encourage my students to explore many facets of their math standards such as number combinations, place value, patterns, and other important mathematical concepts. Other games, such as I Sea 10 and Learning Resources Money Resources Coin Bag will also encourage strategic mathematical thinking as students find different strategies for solving problems and deepen their understanding of the math concepts emphasized throughout the games.
It would be amazing to see this project come to life and to help students find a love for math! Any contribution to this project will be greatly appreciated!
