This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the privilege of working with 17 wonderful, energetic, and ambitious 4 year old students everyday. Our school is one of our district's Pre-K classes available to the families.
In our room, we will focus on skills to enhance our approaching to learning by participating, following rules, and taking turns.
We will also work on skills to help us develop social and emotional through playing with others, resolving conflicts, and communicating.
We will work on writing our own names and identifying letters, numbers, counting, and shapes within our literacy and math approach.
Lastly, we will be able to be creative by expressing our own ideas and engaging in dramatic play.
My Project
I selected the dominoes, the fruit counters as well as the counting games to help students better understand their numbers and operations. The color containers will help students keep their group's materials organized. Lastly, dry erase markers, playstix and geostix will help students be able to create numbers.
All theses materials will enhance the students' ability to develop readiness skills by using hands-on teaching strategies in a child-friendly way.
The selected materials are developmentally based to give all students the best opportunities to help them grow and develop skills concerning numbers and operations, geometry, patterns and algebra and data representation.
