Students at Northeastern Middle School are like no other. They are located in a rural area and are provided with a variety of opportunities that they may not otherwise have in another school. Students are involved in various activities from sports to FFA. We want students to have meaningful experiences during their time with us in the middle school.
Our students strive to put others before themselves and love to find ways that they can give back to the community or to the world.
Students are the focus at Northeastern Middle School and we listen to their ideas and will support their dreams and ambitions. When a student sees a need, they do not hesitate to brainstorm a solution and bring the school on board.
My Project
By attending the "Get Your Teach On" Conference, I will be gaining engaging instructional strategies to bring back and implement in my classroom. I want learning to be fun for students and I want to be able to create experiences for them that help the content stick. This conference will provide various ideas from educators across the nation who have implemented the ideas in their own classrooms. I will also receive resources from the presenters to be able to easily take back to my classroom to implement.
Students need to see that learning can, and should be, fun!
I want them to look back on their time in my math classroom and remember the content learned, but to also remember the experiences when learning the content. This conference will provide me with ways to engage my students while still providing them with the rigor they need to be successful outside of the school walls.
