My students are comprised of 3rd graders who qualify for Title I services in the area of math. Many come from low-income families, and my goal is to provide them with the extra support they need in order to succeed in the regular classroom setting.
My students are hard-working and benefit from working in a small group setting where they can receive individualized instruction.
They enjoy working with manipulatives that they may not have access to otherwise. Providing them with a variety of materials and encouraging a hands-on approach keeps them engaged as they master a variety of math skills.
My Project
Math manipulatives, materials, and activities give my students the opportunity to practice their math skills in a fun, hands-on way. It provides a chance for students to learn in a way that suits them best. My students always look forward to using different materials to learn and practice the skills necessary to succeed in 3rd grade.
Students of all abilities will benefit from using manipulatives which will help them visualize and understand various math concepts.
By having access to more hands-on materials, I will be able to provide more individualized instruction that is also differentiated to meet their particular needs. The products I have selected cover a range of skills that are important to master, and they also encourage the students to work together in a positive manner.
