Motivated, eager-to-learn, respectful, curious, deserving and generally below grade level.
I love the students I teach.
They are eager to learn, but have not always had the opportunity to do so. Many of my students have previously had a bad experience with math, and I want to change their perception. I love math, love to teach math, and love to see students learn. Although the challenge is great, it is worth the effort. Seeing a student go from well below grade level to slightly above is among the greatest rewards and teacher can ask for!
I love teaching math and am always looking for ways to make my class more fun and interactive. Worksheets play an important role, but can be tedious for students. I love to have students write on whiteboards on occasion to give them a different experience.
Students light up when they walk into the classroom and see whiteboards on their desks.
Being able to provide students with markers will allow me to do this more frequently. Students are often willing to work harder and seem to enjoy math more when they can break away from the monotony or worksheets. They discover the joy in math.
